ANNAPOLIS, Md. (AP) - Police say they have arrested an Anne Arundel County bank robber.
Police say the man entered the Wells Fargo bank at 585 Ritchie Highway in Severna Park just after 1:30 p.m. Saturday. Police say the suspect used a note to demand money from a teller and then fled in a white Nissan.
Police say officers saw a car matching the vehicle’s description and attempted to stop it when the driver fled. Police say the driver was taken into custody after a brief chase and identified as the bank robbery suspect.
Police identified the man as 27-year-old Douglas Myron Patterson of Halethorpe. Police say he has been charged with robbery and theft.
The Associated Press attempted to reach Patterson for comment at a listed telephone number but the mailbox was full.
