ANDOVER TOWNSHIP, N.J. (AP) - Four girls face arson charges after they allegedly set a series of small fires at a northern New Jersey facility for emotionally disturbed children.

No injuries were reported in the fires that occurred Thursday night at Willowglen Academy. But the building was briefly evacuated after the last fire, which occurred in a bedroom in the girl’s dormitory wing.

Authorities say firefighters found a large amount of paper burning above the ceiling tiles and removed it, along with the burning embers.

The ages and names of the girls were not disclosed, but authorities said they all share the dorm room where the fire was discovered.

A subsequent investigation determined the girls also apparently started two other small fires in other areas earlier that night, both of which were extinguished by staffers.
