TRAFFORD, Ala. (AP) - Authorities have been searching for an inmate they say escaped custody by walking away from a work release program in Montgomery County.

WBRC-TV reports (https://bit.ly/1IRhstA) that the U.S. Marshals Service, Jefferson County sheriff’s deputies and Warrior police were searching for the inmate in the Trafford area north of Birmingham.

The Birmingham station reports that the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency was also providing assistance from the air.
