CINCINNATI (AP) - Police in southwest Ohio say a fatal traffic accident appears to have followed a driver’s undetermined “medical event.”
The Hamilton County sheriff’s office says 58-year-old driver Dennis Acus’ Chevrolet Monte Carlo struck a minivan that was stopped and waiting to make a left turn. Police say the Acus vehicle than crossed over the double yellow line into oncoming traffic, running into a Cadillac.
Police say Acus died at Jewish Hospital from injuries sustained in Saturday’s crash in Sycamore Township northeast of Cincinnati.
The Cadillac driver was treated at University Hospital.
Investigators don’t suspect drugs or alcohol were part of the cause of the crash. They are still investigating.
