FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. (AP) - Broward Sheriff’s Fire officials were busy this weekend, rescuing a stranded family and a woman in distress while out boating in the Everglades.

On Saturday afternoon a family with two children, 6 and 8-years-old, were fishing when their vessel wouldn’t start. The boaters were located about an hour later and were in good condition despite high temperatures.

Later in the evening, rescuers were called when a 32-year-old woman apparently suffered from heat exhaustion and fainted. The unidentified woman was from St. Cloud and had spent the entire day in high temperatures. She was brought to a boat ramp where rescuers transported her to the hospital.
