Leonardo DiCaprio slammed a recent report by Matt Drudge that claimed the actor gets raped by a bear in a scene from “The Revenant.”

Mr. DiCaprio denied the rumor in a red-carpet interview at the movie’s Los Angeles premiere Wednesday night, two weeks after a Drudge Report article went viral claiming the Golden Globe nominee is raped twice in the film.

“The bear flips Leo over and thrusts and thrusts during the explicit mauling,” Mr. Drudge reported.

The scene in question actually shows Mr. DiCaprio being attacked by a female bear when she thinks her cubs are in danger.

“I have no idea where these ridiculous things came from, and what can you do when you hear stuff like that?” Mr. DiCaprio told E! News’ Zuri Hall. “It’s absurd. It’s absurd.”

One thing he definitely did have to suffer through while making the movie was eating bison liver.

“It’s something that I won’t repeat, that’s for sure,” he said. “We submerged ourselves in the elements for this film. We really wanted to create something incredibly authentic so these types of adventures lend themselves to taking chances like that.”

“You want to be as authentic as you possibly can with every decision that you make and that resulting in me biting into something that was pretty disgusting and my real reaction is on film and up there onscreen.”

“The Revenant,” based on the Michael Punke novel, is in limited release on Dec. 25 with a wide release following on Jan. 8.
