WHEELING, W.Va. (AP) - A Martinsburg doctor has pleaded guilty to federal drug distribution charges.
U.S. Attorney William J. Ihlenfeld II says 45-year-old Tressie Montene Duffy faces up to 20 years in prison and a fine of up to $1 million.
Duffy pleaded guilty on Wednesday to seven counts of aiding and abetting the distribution of oxycodone.
Ihlenfeld says in a news release that Duffy allowed unlicensed members of the staff at her Martinsburg clinic to issue prescriptions for narcotic drugs to patients who hadn’t been seen by a physician. Duffy also signed blank prescription orders.
