HOOVER, Ala. (AP) - Authorities say a former Alabama Wal-Mart employee accused of stealing $40,000 from the store she worked at has been arrested at an Indiana casino.

Hoover Police Capt. Gregg Rector told Al.com (https://bit.ly/1QXwqpN ) Wednesday that 24-year-old Adrienne Renae Thomas was taken into custody by the Indiana Gaming Commission after a fight at the Hoosier Park Casino in Anderson, Indiana.

Rector says surveillance video showed Thomas taking cash in five separate transactions during her last day at work. Police say Thomas left the store shortly after her managers discovered the theft in November and hadn’t been seen since then.

Rector says police were told that Thomas and her boyfriend had fled to Michigan after the theft.

Officials say Thomas is in the Madison County Indiana jail and will be extradited to Alabama.
