ATLANTA (AP) - Police say a DeKalb County police officer accused of sexual assault has been arrested.
Maj. Steve Fore tells local news media that officer Darren Dye-Harriel was arrested Wednesday. Fore says the department’s special victims unit received a complaint alleging that Dye-Harriel had sexually assaulted a person while on duty.
Dye-Harriel is charged with aggravated sodomy, kidnapping, making false statements and violation of oath of office. He is being held at the DeKalb County jail.
It’s not clear whether Dye-Harriel has an attorney.
Dye-Harriel has been placed on administrative leave pending an internal investigation.
