SOUTH BEND, Ind. (AP) - Police say a Christmas Eve gathering at a South Bend apartment led to a confrontation and then a man being fatally shot.

St. Joseph County Metro Homicide Unit Lt. David Wells told the South Bend Tribune (https://bit.ly/1YAWWv8) police responding to shots being fired found man shot inside a third-floor apartment. The victim’s name has not been released.

Witnesses told police the shooting happened at a gathering of more than a half dozen people, including two young children. Witnesses told police, several people, including a man and a woman, got into a dispute, and one man opened fire.



Police are still looking for the man who fired the shots.
