JEFFERSONVILLE, Ind. (AP) - A southern Indiana official is refusing to certify election results for the Jeffersonville City Council, saying he has reason to believe at least one recount team did not accurately count returns.

Clark County Circuit Judge Andrew Adams has scheduled a hearing Monday to hear from Clark County Recount Commissioner John Perkins. Perkins told the (New Albany) News and Tribune reports (https://bit.ly/1MxXfdN ) he is concerned because of the discrepancy between the machine count and hand count.

Perkins said recount team members changed frequently and perhaps weren’t told counting methods and criteria. He said he saw one counter “dozing off” during the recount.

Steve Webb is in third place in after the recount, giving him a seat on the council. Democrat Josh Rodriguez finished third in the original count.
