WATFORD CITY, N.D. (AP) - Bond has been set at $500,000 for a North Dakota woman accused of sexually abusing a boy.
The Williston Herald (https://bit.ly/1mjLjag ) reports 25-year-old Watford City resident Jada Joy Xanders has been charged with one count of continuous sexual abuse of a child.
Court records show Xanders admitted to police detectives that she performed sexual acts with the boy, who is younger than 15 years old. The newspaper reports authorities in McKenzie County were alerted to the alleged abuse by social workers in adjacent Mountrail County.
Northwest District Judge Robin Schmidt set Xanders’ bond this week. Xanders is at the McKenzie County Jail and is scheduled to appear in court Feb. 18.
A call to Xanders’ attorney, Ashley Gulke, on Saturday was not answered and an answering machine said the office was closed.
