NEOLA, Iowa (AP) - A western Iowa man has been critically injured after his truck swerved off the road and struck a bridge support.
The Pottawattamie County Sheriff’s Office says 54-year-old Roger Schneckloth was hurt in the single-vehicle accident occurred Thursday morning just outside of Neola, Iowa. He was transported by medical helicopter to Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha.
A witness told authorities that a 2003 Chevrolet Silverado was heading north on Railroad Highway when it veered into a ditch before hitting the bridge support.
The sheriff’s office says rescue crews had to cut Schneckloth free from his truck.
Authorities tell the Omaha World-Herald (https://bit.ly/1DmVgsg ) that road conditions were normal at the time of the collision. They say investigation into the cause of the crash continues.
