LOWVILLE, N.Y. (AP) - A 48-year-old northern New York woman has been indicted on manslaughter and criminally negligent homicide charges in connection with an overdose death of a teen at her home.

The Watertown Daily Times (https://bit.ly/1E8O6X8 ) reports that Brenda Roth of Deer River was charged in a grand jury report released Friday.

The charges stem from the death of a 15-year-old boy who ingested prescription and over-the-counter drugs at her residence. Police say Roth failed to provide life-saving measures to the boy after he became unresponsive in the early morning hours of Dec. 28.

Roth was being held in jail on $20,000 cash bail and is to be arraigned on Feb. 27 in Lewis County Court.

A phone message left for Roth’s attorney was not immediately returned.
