EPHRATA, Pa. (AP) - Police are seeking help from the public in the early morning shooting death of a woman in the parking lot of her apartment building.

Emergency dispatchers said that gunshots were reported at the building in Ephrata just after 6:20 a.m. Wednesday.

Police said the body of a woman who lived in the complex was found in the lot. Her name and other details weren’t released pending notification of relatives.

Lt. Thomas Shumaker told reporters at a noontime news conference that the shooting isn’t believed to have been random, but declined to say what led investigators to believe that.

No arrests were immediately reported in the case and police did not release a description of any suspects.
