DAYTON, Ohio (AP) - A southwest Ohio woman who said a religious-based community organization fired her after she told them she was pregnant has settled her lawsuit against the organization.

The American Civil Liberties Union and its Ohio affiliate filed the lawsuit in 2013 in Dayton on behalf of Jennifer Maudlin of Springfield against Inside Out and its director. The lawsuit against the Christian-based childcare facility in Springfield was dismissed Tuesday. Settlement terms weren’t released.

A message seeking comment was left Wednesday at Inside Out.

The lawsuit charged that the organization violated laws prohibiting sex and pregnancy discrimination and employment discrimination in firing Maudlin from her job as a cook in 2012.

The single mother had sought more than $500,000 in damages and back pay and an order prohibiting discrimination by the organization.
