ROGERS, Ark. (AP) - Police in Rogers say a 17-year-old boy has died after the sport utility vehicle he was riding in skidded of an icy road and into Lake Atalanta.

A news release from police spokesman Keith Foster says the boy was found trapped inside the vehicle Friday morning after the SUV slid down an embankment and into the water.

Police say the 18-year-old driver of the SUV and a 15-year-old passenger escaped and walked to a nearby residence where they called authorities. The SUV was found upside down in nearly 20 feet of water with the 17-year-old trapped inside.

A spokeswoman for the Rogers School District says all three teens were students at Rogers Heritage High School.
