ATLANTA (AP) - Federal wildlife officials are accepting student entries for the Georgia Junior Duck Stamp competition.

The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service competition is meant to promote conservation of the nation’s waterfowl and their habitats.

Students can submit original, hand-drawn designs of a duck, goose or other waterfowl species native to North America.

Judging will take place at the Piedmont National Wildlife Refuge Visitor Center in Hillsboro on April 7. A total of 100 winners and one Best of Show will be selected from four age groups. The Best of Show will compete nationally in Washington D.C., and the winner of that competition will be used as the Federal Junior Duck Stamp, which is sold for $5 a stamp.

All entries must be postmarked by midnight March 16.
