RICHMOND, Va. (AP) - Frigid temperatures are causing thousands of power outages in parts of Virginia.
Appalachian Power reports on its website that nearly 4,000 customers in southwestern Virginia were without electricity Friday morning.
Dominion Virginia Power says more than 6,000 customers have lost service, including nearly 4,000 in the Richmond area.
