ASTORIA, Ore. (AP) - An Astoria man charged with assaulting an 18-month-old girl pleaded not guilty.
The Daily Astorian newspaper (https://is.gd/IqZGEJ ) reports 22-year-old Alan Francisco Marquez-Mondragon appeared via video link from the Clatsop County Jail Tuesday for an arraignment on charges of assault and criminal mistreatment.
The investigation began when Astoria Police learned a girl was taken to the hospital with an arm that had been fractured for at least five days.
The suspect was arrested Feb. 13 and the girl was placed in state protective custody.
Judge Paula Brownhill set Marquez-Mondragon’s bail at $500,000 and ordered no contact with the victim.
