PORTSMOUTH, N.H. (AP) - Authorities say a roof collapse at a vacant restaurant building in Portsmouth caused a gas leak and forced the evacuation of a nearby business, but no one was hurt.

The Portsmouth Herald reports (https://bit.ly/1vypYxk ) that the roof over what used to be Eddie B’s Comfort Food collapsed Tuesday night, filling the closed restaurant with snow. Authorities closed the road while the gas line was repaired. A beer and wine shop next door was shut down for the night.

Significant snowfall this month has caused numerous roof collapses across the state.
