The $150,000 gown that actress Lupita Nyong’o wore to the Oscars Sunday was reportedly stolen out of her hotel room at the London West Hollywood.

A sheriff’s department source told the New York Daily News that the theft was reported Wednesday.

A source close to the matter said Ms. Nyong’o’s dress was actually stolen Tuesday. The “12 Years a Slave,” Oscar-winning actress tried to file a police report immediately, but couldn’t do so herself, since she does not own the dress; it was on loan from Calvin Klein, the source told the Daily News.

Ms. Nyong’o was not in the room at the time of the alleged theft.

“We got a call at about 11:30 last night from someone at the London Hotel about a high value dress that was stolen from a hotel room,” Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department Officer John Mitchell told the Daily News.

Ms. Nyong’o, 31, had a large entourage with her at the hotel and many of them had access to keycards granting access to her room, the source told The News.

Police are now reviewing surveillance footage from the hotel, TMZ reported.
