KALISPELL, Mont. (AP) - A 62-year-old man has died in a two-vehicle crash on a black ice-covered highway east of Kalispell.

The Montana Highway Patrol says the crash between a Ford Ranger pickup and a Toyota pickup happened at about 6:15 a.m. Tuesday.

The Flathead County sheriff’s office says the driver of the Ford, Ernest William Thureno of Kalispell, was killed in the crash. The patrol says a 40-year-old Kalispell man driving the other pickup suffered serious injuries, but was expected to recover.

The crash happened in the eastbound lane of Montana 35, but troopers are still trying to determine which direction each pickup was traveling.
