AUSTIN, Texas (AP) - Attorneys for former Texas Gov. Rick Perry want a judge to order prosecutors to produce a list of witnesses who testified before the grand jury that indicted Perry on abuse-of-power charges.

In filings Tuesday, they said state law mandates that prosecutors produce names of witnesses upon whose testimony the indictment was based.

They also asked for a hearing Friday to inspect evidence the state will use at trial and a list of witness it may call.

Perry was indicted in August by a Travis County grand jury in Austin.

State District Judge Bert Richardson refused last week to quash the case on constitutional grounds. Special prosecutor Michael McCrum says the matter should go to trial.

Perry left office Jan. 20 and is expected to soon announce a 2016 presidential run.
