DENVER (AP) - A man convicted of sexually assaulting a woman in Denver has been found guilty of trying to have her killed while he was in jail.

A jury on Wednesday found 42-year-old Tony Dotson guilty of solicitation to commit murder.

Dotson is serving a 96-year to life sentence for the May 2012 sexual assault. While he was in jail awaiting trial in that case, prosecutors said Dotson approached gang members offering to pay them to have the victim killed.

The plan was never carried out.
