LYNNWOOD, Wash. (AP) - A stolen SUV overturned on Interstate 5 at Lynnwood early Wednesday during a police chase and spilled mail that apparently had been stolen.

The Snohomish County sheriff’s office says a deputy saw the SUV going the wrong way and making a U-turn on the freeway. The deputy chased the car and caused it to spin out. It landed upside down, spilling mail and technology items in shopping bags.

A man and woman in the SUV were uninjured.

The 29-year-old Kent man was jailed for investigation of possessing a stolen vehicle and attempting to elude. The woman was released. Detectives are checking the mail and electronics to see if they are stolen.

The freeway lanes were reopened before the Wednesday morning rush hour.
