DETROIT (AP) - A woman is charged in the robbery and assault of an 88-year-old Detroit woman whose car was stuck in the snow.

The Wayne County prosecutor’s office says 54-year-old Valerie Johnson of Lansing was arraigned Monday on carjacking, home invasion, unlawful imprisonment, assault and battery and other charges.

The older woman was approached Friday afternoon on the city’s west side and offered help to free her car. Once free, she was driven to a store and later told to drive home where she was tied up and robbed.

Johnson was ordered held on a $500,000 bond. She faces a Feb. 17 probable cause hearing and Feb. 23 preliminary examination.

A defense attorney for Johnson was not listed Monday in court records.
