CAMBRIDGE, Minn. (AP) - A sheriff’s deputy has rescued an 81-year-old woman from a house fire with help from a passer-by in east-central Minnesota.

The Isanti (eye-SAN’-tee) County sheriff’s office was called just after 8 a.m. Monday on a report of a garage fire. Another caller reported a family member was still inside the home, which also was on fire.

WCCO-AM (https://cbsloc.al/1srhmHh ) reports the deputy and the passer-by pulled the woman from the home. She was flown to Hennepin County Medical Center in Minneapolis, where she is in critical condition.



Several family members, the deputy and the passer-by were treated for smoke inhalation and minor injuries.

The fire is under investigation.
