PINE BLUFF, Ark. (AP) - Pine Bluff police have arrested a man in the city’s first homicide of the year.

A coroner pronounced 36-year-old Lakechia Clark dead on Monday morning at her apartment. Police said officers responded to the scene after someone reported hearing gunshots coming from Clark’s apartment.

A police spokesman says that a 22-year-old man from Pine Bluff was arrested later that day after several witnesses were interviewed. A motive hasn’t been released.

An investigation is ongoing into the fatal shooting. Anyone with information about the case is asked to contact the Pine Bluff Police Detective Division.
