SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (AP) - A Minnesota man who pleaded guilty to going on a rampage in Sioux Falls with a stolen car about a year ago has been sentenced to 15 years in prison.
Thirty-six-year-old Jeremy Albers, of Hills, Minnesota, last fall pleaded guilty to robbery and assault charges in a plea deal with prosecutors that capped his potential prison time at 40 years and set restitution at about $49,320.
Police say Albers on Feb. 2, 2014, fled on foot from the scene of a vehicle crash, stole another vehicle and assaulted a woman who was still inside when he drove away. They say he swerved at police officers before crashing the vehicle.
The Argus Leader reports (https://argusne.ws/17DIFVH ) that Albers was drunk during the incident and says he does not remember it.
