WAKE FOREST, N.C. (AP) - The Body Shop says it is closing its customer service center in Wake Forest that has 145 employees.

The News & Observer of Raleigh reports (https://bit.ly/1KH2gDw ) the beauty retailer will open a new U.S. headquarters in New York and will establish additional offices in New Jersey as well as a distribution facility in the Northeast.

The Body Shop is making offers to about 10 Wake Forest employees to relocate to New York and New Jersey.

The customer service center is scheduled to close in early July.

Founded in 1976, The Body Shop is now owned by L’Oreal, which acquired the maker of natural beauty and bath products in 2006. The retailer has more than 3,000 stores in 67 countries. Its global headquarters are in the United Kingdom.
