DURHAM, N.C. (AP) - Deputies in Durham County have charged a woman in the shooting death of her mother at the tire store where she was a co-owner.

The Durham County Sheriff’s Office told local media outlets that 38-year-old Rebekah Turner Maxwell was arrested Monday and charged with first-degree murder.

Maj. Paul Martin said 62-year-old Betty Tice Turner was sitting at the cashier’s window when she was shot.

It’s the same tire store where five people were shot on March 23, 2012 after a man walked into the business and opened fire. O’Brian McNeil White was arrested for the 2012 shootings in which two people were killed. His trial is scheduled for March 2.

Maxwell is being held without bond in the Durham County Jail. Jail records didn’t indicate whether she has an attorney.
