LAS VEGAS (AP) - Police are asking for public help to find vehicle and hit-and-run driver after a 26-year-old man was struck at a busy crossroads and thrown into a palm tree near a southwest Las Vegas gas station.

Las Vegas police Officer Larry Hadfield said the man’s body was found about 6 a.m. Wednesday in the bushes near the service station and convenience store at Tropicana Avenue and Jones Boulevard.

Paramedics determined he was dead at the scene.

Crash investigators say no witnesses remained at the scene and the collision wasn’t captured on security camera video.

The name of the dead man wasn’t immediately made public.
