JACKSON, La. (AP) - State police say a Baker teen died in a two vehicle accident on La. Highway 964 near Jackson in East Feliciana Parish
Trooper Jared Sandifer says 18-year-old Mekala Brooks was southbound Thursday night when her car crossed the centerline and struck a northbound pickup driven by 47-year-old Ricky Edwards of Independence.
Sandifer says Brooks was not wearing a seatbelt and was ejected from her vehicle. He says she died at the scene. Edwards was taken to a Baton Rouge with minor injuries.
The accident remains under investigation.
