MAQUOKETA, Iowa (AP) - A trial is scheduled to begin March 9 for a Clinton 16-year-old accused of sexually assaulted a sleeping woman in eastern Iowa.

The Telegraph Herald reports (https://bit.ly/154slMV ) that the boy entered a written plea of not guilty last week to a felony charge of sexual abuse. The Associated Press generally doesn’t name juveniles accused of crimes.

Court records say the incident occurred early in the morning on Dec. 21 at a residence in Maquoketa (muh-KOH-kih-tuh). The woman reported that she pushed the boy off her after she awoke during his assault.
