SUMMIT TOWNHIP, Mich. (AP) - The Jackson County Sheriff’s Office is reporting that a 78-year-old woman found dead on her driveway last weekend died of hypothermia.

Jackson County Sheriff Steve Rand says deputies began a death investigation Saturday morning at Rita Otto’s home in Summit Township. He says Otto appeared to be living alone and had been in her driveway for some time.

According to his statement, nothing suspicious was found at the scene. Rand says the medical examiner determined Otto’s cause of death as hypothermia.
