ATLANTA (AP) - Grammy-winning gospel singer Israel Houghton will be honored for his musical achievements at BMI’s 16th annual Trailblazers of Gospel Music Awards.
Along with Houghton, the group LaShun Price and The Anointed Pace Sisters will also be recognized Saturday night in downtown Atlanta by Broadcast Music Inc. The event, which was held in Nashville last year, celebrates gospel music’s premier songwriters and leading industry executives.
BMI will also announce the most-performed gospel song of the year at the ceremony.
Houghton is the lead singer of the Grammy-nominated Israel & New Breed. He has collected four Grammys during his career. The Atlanta-based Pace Sisters, who are led by singer LaShun Price, are known for their hit singles “When God is in the Building” and “Safety Zone.”
