RENO, Nev. (AP) - A federal judge in North Dakota has sentenced a 40-year-old Reno man to five years in prison on child pornography charges.
Federal prosecutors say U.S. Homeland Security agents seized a laptop, two hard drives and a Kindle tablet from Jonathan Edward Holiday last January.
They say he was in possession of more than 600 images of children he obtained on a Twitter account.
The Bismarck Tribune reports Holiday was living at the time in Watford City, North Dakota. He owns a trucking firm in Nevada that has routes through North Dakota.
Holiday also was sentenced to five years’ probation upon his release.
The case was prosecuted as part of Project Safe Childhood, a nationwide initiative led by U.S. attorneys that is designed to protect children from online exploitation and abuse.
