CAMDEN, Del. (AP) - The Delaware State Police says a man who was struck by a postal truck has died of his injuries.

State Police said Wednesday that 79-year-old Robert R. Thomas of Camden has died. State Police say Thomas walked into the roadway in front of the postal truck on Jan. 12 in order to give the carrier driving the truck some mail.

State Police say the driver did not immediately see Thomas and hit him as he pulled away from a mailbox. State Police say Thomas was taken to the hospital with a head injury and died Tuesday.

The driver of the postal truck was uninjured in the collision.
