ARLINGTON, Va. (AP) - Police have arrested a woman who allegedly ran over two men with her car at an auto dealer in Arlington, critically injuring one of them.
Arlington County Police arrested 39-year-old Alexandra Mendez of Fairfax on Wednesday. Police allege Mendez first hit a car while turning around in the parking lot of MK Auto Sales and Service in Arlington on Tuesday.
The dealer’s owner, Noormustafa Shaikh, and an employee tried to stop her from leaving by closing a gate.
That’s when police say she gunned the car and hit the gate. She stopped but police say she gunned the car again, running over the employee’s foot and over Shaikh, dragging him several feel before fleeing.
Shaikh was hospitalized with life-threatening injuries.
Mendez did not appear to have a listed telephone number.
