MARYVILLE, Tenn. (AP) - A healthcare company in Blount County has announced an expansion project that it says will create 450 new jobs.

The Daily Times (https://bit.ly/15V2AOx) reports TeamHealth, which provides outsourced physician staffing for hospitals, announced Wednesday that it plans a new building in Louisville.

TeamHealth President and CEO Michael D. Snow said the addition is due to growth in the company’s anesthesia service.

TeamHealth said it plans to relocate its Healthcare Financial Services anesthesia operations to the new facility by August.

“It always says a lot to businesses around the country and world when a company like TeamHealth, with a great history in our state, chooses to continue growing here,” Tennessee Gov. Bill Haslam said in a statement. “We want to thank TeamHealth for this significant investment and creating 450 new jobs in Blount County. Today’s announcement is great news for our East Tennessee communities and brings us another step closer toward our goal to make Tennessee the No. 1 location in the Southeast for high-quality jobs.”

“TeamHealth is a valued organization in Tennessee and I’m pleased they can take advantage of our business-friendly environment to continue expanding in our state,” Economic and Community Development Commissioner Randy Boyd said. “These jobs will make a big difference in our communities, paving the way for additional long-term growth.”
