NORTH BENNINGTON, Vt. (AP) - A North Bennington manufacturer has been awarded a $227,000 financial incentive to create jobs over the next five years.
National Hanger Company is one of seven Vermont companies that have received similar awards for Vermont Employment Growth Incentive for a total of $3.8 million.
The Bennington Banner (https://bit.ly/1FnihhS ) reports that National Hanger has been operating on Water Street since 1981 and currently employs about 104 people. It produces clothes hangers and a variety of related products.
National Hanger President Michele Pilcher president of National Hanger Company says that over the next five years the company may hire an additional 30 and 40 people who will work in a new online retail division.
Pilcher says work in the new division is expected to begin next month.
