CASPER, Wyo. (AP) - A former victim advocate for the Casper Police Department has acknowledged sexually assaulting a woman as she recovered from surgery at an assisted living center.

The Casper Star-Tribune reports (https://bit.ly/1BSkdJy ) 47-year-old James Holscher pleaded guilty Thursday to second-degree sexual assault and exploitation of a vulnerable adult. A plea deal calls for a three- to 10-year prison sentence.

Prosecutors say Holscher assaulted the woman in June as she was recovering after having both her hips replaced. Investigators say she told them she couldn’t stop Holscher because of her medical condition.

The woman told authorities that she and Holscher had a consensual sexual relationship but Holscher touched her inappropriately after she told him several times to stop.

Holscher resigned July 24.
