PORTAGE, Mich. (AP) - A 20-year-old Illinois man has been charged in the death of a 54-year-old Michigan man who was thrown from the hood of a moving vehicle.

Devonte Deemer Parker of Riverdale, Illinois, was arraigned Thursday on charges of reckless driving causing death and failing to stop at an accident scene when at fault causing death.

Police say Parker was playing music from his vehicle outside of an apartment complex in Portage on Jan. 2 when he was confronted by Kenneth Miller. Police say the men got into an argument and Parker sped off in his vehicle.

The Kalamazoo Gazette (https://bit.ly/14xGktu ) reports a witness told police that Miller was on the hood of the vehicle as Parker drove off.

Police say Miller died Tuesday as a result of his injuries.

It wasn’t immediately clear if Parker has an attorney.
