FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. (AP) - A Mesa man is accused in a series of residential burglaries in northern Arizona last year.

Coconino County sheriff’s deputies say 57-year-old Douglas Doyle Dillon was arrested as he tried to free his vehicle from a snowbank in the Forest Lakes Area.

Authorities say Dillon’s DNA was linked to one of the burglaries through the Arizona Department of Public Safety Crime Lab from blood samples left on broken glass.

More than 20 burglaries were reported between March and December at unoccupied seasonal homes in or around the Forest Lakes and Blue Ridge communities.

Sheriff’s officials say outbuildings such as garages, storage sheds and workshops were the primary targets, according to the release.

They say stolen items included contractor tools such as air compressors, power tools, saws, drills and chain saws.
