CARSON CITY, Nev. (AP) - Two lucky families will win a free year of college tuition if they sign up for Nevada’s prepaid tuition program.

Treasurer Dan Schwartz says people who sign a contract with the program by the close of business on Thursday will be automatically entered into a drawing and could win free college for their beneficiary.

Nevada’s prepaid tuition program allows people to pay for college in advance and lock in current tuition prices. Children can attend school years down the road in Nevada or at an accredited school out-of-state and save thousands of dollars.

The program is in its 17th year of operation.

Nevadans can sign up for the program online at NVPrepaid.gov.
