LANCASTER, Pa. (AP) - Police in central Pennsylvania say two people accused of killing a sixth-grade math teacher also sexually assaulted her.

LNP reported Friday (https://bit.ly/1w6d7MH ) that authorities added charges that include involuntary deviate sexual intercourse against 25-year-old Thomas Moore and his 16-year-old co-defendant.

The two had already faced charges of homicide for the Dec. 15 killing of Nicole Mathewson inside her home in Lancaster.

The two defendants waived their preliminary hearing on Friday.

Moore’s lawyer tells the paper his client isn’t responsible for Mathewson’s death, and the juvenile defendant’s lawyer says there’s a lot of forensic evidence that still needs to be analyzed.

The Brownstown Elementary teacher had been alone in her home the night she died. Police say the alleged attackers didn’t know her beforehand.
