PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) - A health advisory for Lake Billy Chinook Reservoir has been lifted in time for the Fourth of July weekend.
The Oregon Health Authority said Wednesday that blue-green algae toxins are now at a safe level for human exposure.
The authority warns that people should be careful about letting their pets in the water, because toxins are still above the very low exposure levels established for dogs.
Lake Billy Chinook Reservoir is in Central Oregon, about 25 miles southwest of Madras.
