PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) - Authorities say a man has died in an officer-involved shooting in McMinnville, Oregon.

A statement from the McMinnville Police Department says the man was shot Wednesday during a chase that began when he fled from a traffic stop. He died at the scene. Police identified the man as 24-year-old Kevin Lamont Judson of Dayton, Oregon.

The officer who fired has been identified as Yamhill County sheriff’s Deputy Richard Broyles, a 16-year sheriff’s office veteran. He was not hurt and is on paid leave.



Oregon State Police and other law enforcement agencies are investigating the shooting.

McMinnville is 40 miles southwest of Portland.
