CONCORD, N.H. (AP) - A trio of state senators is headed to Israel for a week to learn about the country’s approach to public health care, border security, economic development, environmental policy and a host of other issues.

Democratic Sens. Donna Soucy, Dan Feltes and Jeff Woodburn leave Saturday for the trip, sponsored by the American Israel Education Foundation.

In one session, the senators will meet with a professor from Hebrew University to compare the American and Israeli legislative systems. In another session, they’ll visit the Dead Sea to learn about irrigation and agriculture in the area. Other seminars include discussions on business and labor relations in Israel and protecting civil liberties.

The American Israel Education Foundation is paying for the trip, as approved by the state’s Legislative Ethics Committee.
